Terms of Service

Last updated 24 October 2026

Plain terms for a site that offers everything it has freely. In short: use the site kindly and lawfully, take spiritual teaching as spiritual teaching, and know that donations and event registration run through trusted third parties.

Acceptance of these terms

This website is run by Ramashram Satsang Mathura, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation registered in the United States (EIN 20-3731546), together with Ramashram Satsang, Mathura in India (together “we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

These terms were last updated on 24 October 2026. We may change them from time to time; the date at the top of this page tells you when. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Who we are and what the site is for

The site describes Satsang, a system of guided meditation taught since 1930, and the activities of the organisation: online and in-person Satsang events, service projects in India, literature, and a blog written by members of the community. Everything here is offered free of charge in a spirit of service.

Spiritual guidance, not professional advice

Meditation and the teachings described on this site are offered as spiritual practice. They are not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and they are not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you have a health condition, or are in distress, please consult a doctor or another qualified professional. You take part in meditation sessions and events at your own discretion and risk.

Events and registration

Events are free unless an event page says otherwise. Registration for many events runs through third-party services such as Meetup, Eventbrite, WebEx and Zoom, each of which has its own terms and privacy policy. Dates, times and formats can change; the event page and the Satsang Calendar carry the latest details. Online sessions may be recorded and shared later for those who could not attend; you will be told at the start of a session if it is being recorded.

Donations

Contributions are processed by Raisely, a third-party donation platform, and are governed by its terms and privacy policy; we never see your full card details. Donations to Ramashram Satsang Mathura, Inc. are tax-deductible in the United States to the extent the law allows, and a receipt is sent by email. Donations are made voluntarily and are not refundable, except where a payment was made in error; in that case write to contact@ramashram.org within 30 days and we will put it right.

Your content and article submissions

If you submit an article through the “Submit your article” page, you confirm that it is your own work, that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights, and that we may edit it for length and clarity and publish it on this site and in our newsletters, with your name as the author. We review every submission and are not obliged to publish it. You keep the copyright in your writing; you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish it. Please do not submit anything unlawful, defamatory, hateful, or that contains personal information about other people without their permission.

Our content

The text, photographs, recordings, the Satsang literature and the design of this site belong to Ramashram Satsang Mathura or are used with permission. You are welcome to read, download, print and share our material for personal, non-commercial use, and to quote from it with attribution and a link to this site. Please ask us before republishing whole articles or booklets, using our name or logo, or using any material commercially. The name “Ramashram Satsang Mathura” and the lotus mark identify our organisation and may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement.

Acceptable use

Please use the site only for lawful purposes. Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it, interfere with its operation, harvest data about other users, or use automated tools to copy the site in bulk. We may suspend access for anyone who misuses the site.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is”. We take care to keep it accurate and available, but we make no warranty that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that the information on it is complete or current. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ramashram Satsang Mathura, its trustees, volunteers and members are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or your participation in any activity described on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, where Ramashram Satsang Mathura, Inc. is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you use the site from India, nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Indian law, including under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We would always rather resolve a concern by conversation; please write to us first.
